United Women in Faith
Women of the church are by default members of the group. The question is whether or not individual women participate.
Our group meets monthly via zoom, with a program that relates to the many missions sponsored by United Women in Faith. We work on projects to help other people, such as “Days for Girls” https://www.daysforgirls.org/
The organized unit of the United Methodist Women should be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
The women of Pine Grove painted this “masterpiece” for Wake Forest Medical Health in Davie County. The artwork will be an example of work done by Pine Grove’s people and will be an invitation for those who see it to visit and be part of our congregation. It’s an example of the artistry of women of the church, prominently displayed at the new facility.
It is through projects such as this, other activities such as meal preparation for Rise Against Hunger, participation in United Methodist Women activities both locally and at the conference level at Lake Junaluska that our women are not only recognized but feel satisfaction that comes from service projects such as these. Other activities include mission studies, Mothers Day Tea, Assembling kits for UMCOR , parties for the UMAR home, helping with Sr. Adult Vacation Bible School, Selling Rada Cutlery, nuts, Spiritual Growth Retreat, collecting hygiene items for homeless women, and many more mission projects. We also participate in the Live Nativity each December.
